Räucherhäuschen, or Little Smoking House as would be the literal translation, is a little incense burner. Räucherhäuschen have been around since the mid 1800s and are an essential accessory to give your house that special festive smell. 

This one is a depiction of the famous Brothers Grimm fairy tale Hänsel & Gretel and the gingerbread house. 

A little incense cone is lit up and placed in the inside of the Räucherhäuschen (by taking off the house from its base), the smoke then escapes through the chimney. 

Hand-made in Germany in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) from wood.
